Our church has been connecting with, praying for, and serving our Camino South neighbors through Impact Week since the summer of 2008, so that makes this summer’s effort #15! We believe the opportunity to reach out to our neighbors is important to keep a connection with them, to remind them that God loves them, and to remain a positive touchstone for everyone who frequently drives by our building.
We hope you’ll be a part of Impact Week 2022 in as many ways as you can. Below are links for Student Registration and also an Adult Volunteer Form that has a lot of information about the week:

We also want to encourage everyone to purchase a “Love Hopes” Impact Week t-shirt to show your support for the week and to wear to any event you can participate in. The t-shirts are $11 each for S-XL and $12 for 2XL & up. You can order them in person in the church foyer this Sunday (the 17th) and pay by cash/check or you can order online at this link:

1) Our plan is to go ahead and try to make face-to-face contact with our closest neighbors, those who live on the streets closest to our building. We will use Sunday night, the 24th and Monday night, the 25th to walk those streets and knock on those doors. We find more people at home during our evening door-knocking sessions, so our nearest neighbors will be our focus during those times. We will need as many “beautiful feet” and friendly faces and willing hearts as possible to get those streets and homes covered over those two nights, so please consider coming to join us. Folks of all ages (bring your whole family!) are welcome and needed. Start time will be 6:00 pm. Meet in the gym!
2) For the rest of our Camino South neighborhood, we have created a door hanger with a message and information we want to convey to our neighbors, and we will hang those on the doors throughout the neighborhood during our morning door-knocking sessions, without direct contact with anyone. If you’re available from 9-11:30 Monday & Tuesday (or until we get it done!), we’d love to have your help with this.
3) Part of the messaging on the door hanger invites our neighbors to respond (via a link or a call) with any prayer or service requests. The prayer requests would be sent out to our prayer warriors and prayed over. We will assess any service requests received and decide on the best way to approach completing those. We’ll use our Service Crew Teams, made up mostly of our Refuge Youth, during the day times, but if you and your family or a group of friends would be interested in taking on a service opportunity, please let Dalton or Donna know.
4) There will also be other ways to help, such as providing food/meals for our volunteers, helping with the Summer Bash (a COA event that we’ll be helping with on Tuesday night, the 26th), or helping with our Water Games & Movie Night (we’ll be hosting on our own campus) on Thursday night, the 28th.
We’d love for our church to show up for all of these opportunities, so please be praying about and planning for how you and/or your family will be a part of our Impact Week effort.
Thank you all!
