Born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, I enlisted in the U.S. Army in November of 1967 and spent two years in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic (Army Aviation). After military service I returned to Brownsville and married Benita. We moved to the Houston area in the early 1970s and began a family. We have three children: Albert, born in Pasadena, and Alma and Alexa, born in Spring. I had the privilege of baptizing all three into Christ. Several job moves placed us in Albuquerque, NM, in 1989, where our children and grandchild still live. Benita and I returned to the Houston area in 2004.
I am honored and humbled by your choice, and I promise to do everything in my power to live up to your trust. I have always prayed, wished, and desired to be a well used tool in God’s hand. I used to think I wanted to be a shiny tool, but not anymore —we all know that shiny tools don’t get used. I take this responsibility very seriously. Please keep Benita, me, and the Clear Lake family in your prayers.
My vision is to join in the effort to nurture the Clear Lake family to be fully committed to God and to be fully committed to His rule in our lives.
