Purpose
Our purpose is to provide a Christian atmosphere for parents to leave their children and, at the same time, give children opportunities to develop spiritually, socially, mentally, and physically.

Hours
Mother’s Day Out takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Phone: 281-486-9763

Ages
We accept children ages 6 months through 4 years. Age is determined as of September 1. Classes are divided as follows:

Nursery 1:  6-12 months (infant)
Nursery 2:  13-24 months
2-2:  Younger 2 year olds
2-1:  Older 2 year olds
3-2:  Younger 3 year olds
3-1:  Older 3 year olds
Preschool 1:  4 year olds
Preschool 2:  4 year olds

Student-Teacher Ratios
We believe it is important for students to have one-on-one attention from teachers and assistants. Therefore, we have set limits on the number of students in each class to allow more teachers per student than required for state-regulated day care facilities.

Curriculum
Our theme-based curriculum is custom-designed for your child, depending on his or her age. We emphasize personal care from teachers, age-appropriate learning and skills training, and social, moral, and spiritual development. Upon request, we can provide specific curriculum objectives for each class level.

Schedule
The infant class attempts to follow the individual child’s schedule as much as possible. Other classes follow a more scheduled routine. Class schedules include Bible class or story, weekly chapel, free play in the classroom and gym, reading or “circle” time, Spanish, music, craft, lunch, and naps (nursery through 2-year-old classes). Our 3 and 4-year-old classes also attend art class twice a week, conducted by a certified art teacher.

Special Event Days
Special event days are an exciting part of our program. These include:

  • Holiday Parties (e.g., Thanksgiving Feast, Valentine’s Parties)
  • Special Holiday Activities (e.g., Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt)
  • Child/Caregiver Activities (e.g., Mother’s Tea, Grandparents’ Luncheon)
  • Activity Days (e.g., Splash Day, Bike Day)

Information about each activity is provided to parents in advance, and we invite parents to help with these activities by bringing necessary items and/or attending.

Field Trips
The 3 and 4-year-old classes take field trips throughout the year. Typically, they have two trips. Prior destinations include Alvin Fire Station, Kroger Signature Store, Freeman Memorial Library, Bayou Wildlife Park, Houston Zoo, and Kemah Aquarium. Transportation is provided by teachers and volunteer parents, who also serve as chaperones.  Parents must sign a permission slip allowing their child to attend field trips.

Cost
Rates depend on the age of your child and the frequency of attendance. Tuition is collected monthly. Below are general rates for the 2007-2008 school year:

1 child (one day/week) $65.00
1 child (both days)  $120.00
1 child (preschool)  $120.00

Registration Fee
We charge a registration fee of $50.00.  Registration fees are non-refundable and are used to cover various expenses including: (1) additional hours worked to enter student information and prepare for the school year; (2) teacher orientation and training; and (3) purchasing supplies. The registration fee for 3 and 4 year olds also covers the cost of a school t-shirt, which is required to attend field trips with the class.
How to Register
Registration for fall begins in April for currently enrolled students and new students. You must complete a registration form, pay the applicable fee, and provide health information and immunization records. We will then reserve a space for your child!
