#TakeFaithHome – June

Bring Faith Home 3

Which is better when it comes to family, quality time or quantity? Is it better to have special time with family or to be around each other often? Answering this question is conceptually simple, but practically difficult..

“Always remember these commands that I give you today. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up.”

– Deuteronomy 6:6-7

To me it looks like we should spend lots of time together as a family, but also that time should be quality.

When it comes to family the answer to quality vs quantity is actually both quality and quantity. Get together with your family in the morning, and in the evening. Get together to go to the store and when you are just sitting at the table. Get together often. When you are together enjoy the time you have together, learn, talk, and sing together about God. By doing these things you can grow closer as a family and closer to God as a family.

Here is a link to a great resource that provides simple quality faith forming family time options (don’t mind the May part – we will be a month behind until August). If you would like me to print out a color copy for you I would be glad to do that if you contact me.
