#TakeFaithHome – March

Bring Faith Home 3

Each week this month until Easter families will have an opportunity to experience Lent together. This time of Lent is meant to help us focus our attention on Jesus as the significance behind Easter. While Easter is relatively widely celebrated in our culture, it is not always clear that Easter is about Jesus.

Eggs, gifts, and candy are great things to get for Easter but it is more important to make sure our kids realize that Easter is a celebration of our Salvation found in Christ. Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day to save us from our sins.

Another simple exercise that you can do together as a family is called The Prayer of Examen. This is something that can be done at the dinner table or before bed time as a family.

Here is how it works:

  1. Ask: What was the bad part o your day?
  2. Ask: What was the good part of your day?
  3. Ask: Where did you experience God in your day?
  4. Pray about the things you talked about. Ask for help with the bad, thank God for the good, and tell God you love him.
