Parent’s Night Out – Deadline to register is January 28

Parent's Night OutIf you would you like an evening to yourself, a date night with your spouse, or just some time to take care of those errands, be sure to reserve Saturday, January 31 and Saturday, February 7.  Families will need to be available for both evenings.
On one of those evenings, you and your kids will spend some time with friends in our gymnasium, supervising all the kids involved in the program and chatting with other parents. This is a great time to get to meet or reconnect with church family.

On the alternate evening, you will have the chance to drop off your children for supervised play in the gymnasium while you get an evening out.

Once we have a list of interested families, we will split up the parents into two groups. The first group will have the opportunity to drop off their children at 4:00 p.m. on 31 January and enjoy some adult time before picking up their kids. The other group of parents will remain with the kids in the gym and supervise the children until pick-up at 9:00 p.m.

Those groups will switch on February 7th, with the first group of parents watching the children. The second group of parents will get a night out.

We would like the kids to arrive at 4:00 p.m. with a sack dinner they can eat after some open gym time with their friends. For the first two hours, the kids will be supervised for play in the gym.  At about 6:00 p.m. we’ll sit down to enjoy dinner and then go to room 129 to watch a DVD.  We’ll provide the kids with a snack (pretzels and juice boxes).  We ask that parents pick up their children by 9:00 p.m.

If parents have any movies they’d like to suggest, please let me know. I’ll provide three movie options a week before the event so that parents have a chance to let me know if they have any reservations or preferences for the listed movies.

If you are interested in participating, please email Warnecke and Nate Miller at warnecke_miller@yahoo.com with the subject line “Parent’s Night Out.”  Include the names of the adult(s) interested in participating, along with the names and ages of the children. If you have not already filled out a volunteer background check form for participation in the children’s ministry, please fill out the attached application and return it to the church. We also ask that you fill out the attached medical form for each child.

Please let me know if you are interested by January 28.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact the Millers. We look forward to seeing you and hope that this program is a success so that we can schedule more “Parent’s Night Out” opportunities in the future.
