News and Notes – September 21, 2012

Impact Lunch:  On Sunday, September 23, we will serve lunch to our fellow brothers and sisters at Impact Church of Christ following their morning service. If you signed up to bring cookies, please take them to the FAC kitchen prior to Bible class.

Life Line Screenings will be offered at our building on Thursday, September 27, by Memorial Hermann to scan for Stroke, Vascular Disease and Osteoporosis. Pre-register at 1-800-324-9458. Your source code is HSC5866. Sunday, September 23 is the last day to sign up.

Will You Help? We have an awesome opportunity to share The Story with our family, friends, and community and need your help to accommodate the large attendance we are having.
· When feasible, do your best to have your family come in the fewest vehicles possible.
· Take notice of the spaces that are labeled “Guest Parking” and leave them open for our visitors.
· If you are able, please park farther away so that late comers and guests may find spaces closer to our Guest Entrance.
· Be on the lookout to greet guests and leave room at the end of your pew by moving in toward the middle.

Clothing and Cold Weather Drive for the Homeless: Donations of blankets, coats, long-sleeve shirts, sweaters, sleeping bags, pants, gloves, hats, etc. are being accepted now through October 21. Items will be distributed to our homeless brothers and sisters in the Clear Lake area and downtown Houston on Saturday, October 27. All donations should still be in wearable condition. We will also be collecting new underwear, new socks, and hygiene items. Any donation of undergarments and/or socks must be new and in original plastic wrapping. For more information, please contact Holly Miles, Jillian Hughes, or Judy Whittington.

NOTE:  We have temporarily moved our Praise and Prayer list to our Facebook Group so that we can protect the privacy of those on our list.  Soon our members only section of our website will be up and running and we will include our Praise and Prayer list there.
